thegloaming posted a topic in the forum Technology in Belgium :
    From Belgacom to Telenet
In about a month's time, I'll move m phone and internet connection from Belgacom to Telenet.
Telenet said they'll handle moving of the phone connection, and the internet I have to do myself.

Does anyone have any idea/advice on the best way to go about stopping an internet connection with Belgacom? Of course I could call them and let them know, but I have been told it's sometimes better to be much more formal about it, e.g. via a registered letter....  more

in the topic Long Term Parking at Schiphol in the forum Travel & Transport in the Netherlands
I'm going to be flying out from Amsterdam for about 3 weeks, and I need to park my car at some Schiphol parking. I seem to have 2 options:

    1. The Official Schiphol Parking - Costs me 115 euros, and I'll have to drop my car and take a shuttle to and from the airport.
    Link: http://www.schiphol.nl/Transport/ParkingAtSchiphol.htm

    2. CentralParking.nl - They offer valet parking (also for 115 euros). I found them via the klm homepage.
    Link: http://www.centralparking.nl/

I'm leaning towards the latter (easier to get off and on straight at the terminal), but am not sure if it is safe/secure/reliable.

I was wondering (hoping) if someone has tips or advice on the 2 options above or some other better alternative?

    Thanks

in the topic Buying a Car - things to do? in the forum Travel & Transport in Belgium
I'm soon going to buy a 2nd hand car here in Belgium (have it narrowed down to 2 options at the moment).
Does anyone know what are the formalities and other official things which I must take care of once the deal is complete?
I expect taxes, insurance, etc. - what would be the places wherein to get these done and what papers would I need?

    Thanks.

in the topic Prohibitive electricity bill in the forum Legal Issues in Belgium
Last week, out of nowhere, I got a HUGE electricity bill - this is for the perdod covering last 2 years (2006 - now), and is of the order of thousands of Euros.
It seems that the meter reading I did and sent to Electrabel last December shows that my electricity usage in the last 2 years has increased 5 times since the 2 years before.
The thing is that I have been living in this same place for the last 5 years - and my reading and corresponding bills for the first 2 years are reasonable, and there is no logical reason for this increase- I have the same electrical equipment as of 5 years ago, and none is very old or so. I live alone, and am out of home all day on weekdays for work, and my living patterns are still the same.

I cant figure where this bill comes from, and when I called Electrabel they (eventually) advised to get a reading of my appliances by an electrician, which is now scheduled for next monday.

Is there a consumer court or complaint forum or such where I can take my issue to, in case there is not a reasonable handling of the same with Electrabel?
