This was last year and I only earned about 5000 euros so I was well below the threshold. However I found out that if you are a buitenlanden student and do not work you are not entitled to zorgtoeslag unless you have a job. I did end up getting a job but there was probably a 5 month window where I was only a student.
I rang up the belastingdienst to inform them of this last year. First the guy said I was entitled to it and then he checked and said no but they would eventually send me a recalculation. I wanted him to make a note on my file that I had informed the belastingdienst of this but he would not.
I have still not recieved a recalculation - is it best to call them or write them a letter?
