That is spot on, love to hear some egypt stories, been on holiday's there for a month in 2008......you gonna love holland Natalie....it won't be that easy but give it time and it all works out, and that is from someone that has lived here for 30 years and then went to Australia for 10 years and came back for a bit...

Roof, definitely, would love to exchange stories of life in Egypt. A month there must have been difficult? At least I would have thought so. Thank you so much for your post and I am certain that it will take time - especially since i've lived with my parents for so long. Mind you- they are still trying to convince me not to leave :(. I'm hoping I will love it and even if I don't i'll just have to suck it up.

Hope you're settling back home alright :)

I think you're correct about the travel and expense of travelling to The Hague.

When I moved here, I used a Volksuniversiteit (not the Utrecht one). It had a nice mix of working people (from au pairs, to expats on assignment here from all over the world) in a group of around 9 people, and the tutor was lovely. It's also not as expensive as some of the private schools.

Here is a link to the Utrecht one, although it might not be as intensive as you are hoping for?

    vu-utrecht - Nederlands voor Anderstaligen

Thank you very much for this, truly appreciated :))) Will have a look through the site.

    Hi,

I am in dire straits in regards to an Intensive Dutch course in Utrecht. I was thinking of going to Den Hague however seeing as I am going to be living in IJsselstein, I believe that the travel expenses will be extortionate with the tram and train rides (correct me if I am wrong please) and seeing as I want to primarily concentrate on learning the language first, I will not be looking for work for a good 2-3 months and hence I won't have money coming in and living off my savings. I was hoping for some advice in regards to a 2/3 week beginners intensive programme initially, in Utrecht, so that it is a mere tram ride. I also would rather it were a group course as opposed to one-on-one so that I can meet people seeing as I pretty much only have my boyfriend there and would like to meet people. Sorry to be so demanding :(((

I apologise if this has already been a topic in the forum, however I attempted searching it and found nothing Utrecht related.

    Truly appreciate your help
    !
