I would order a contigo autoseal mug. Buy it online gocontingo.com. Brilliant no spill for both hot and cold. I think actually some stores may sell it in the netherland. But not 100% sure

in the topic Thanksgiving.... in the forum Shopping in the Netherlands
I am a Canadian living abroad and am doing my best to continue celebrating the usual holidays back home.

Thanksgiving is coming up (the Canadian one of course) and I would like to do my best to find a turkey. I'll try to remain positive but last year I ended up buying a chicken instead.

Does anyone happen to know where I can find a whole turkey in the Netherlands? Preferably, Rotterdam?

    Thanks:)

in the topic Anyone ever hear of Nieuwland? in the forum Learning Dutch

Nope, but I did a google search, then ran it through Google translate.

    http://www.nieuwland.nl/

Apparently, they're some kind of consultancy business that does all kinds of corporate training...and as when you drill down you eventually get to a page where they show they have the approval of the Inbuggering Bureaucrats.

    Hope this helps...

    It does:) Thanks!

A group of us at work, who were with the same agency, were offered free Dutch courses through this company called Nieuwland.

I am curious since they said that they found none of our details with the City Hall or Tax office and needed our sofi numbers.

It seems a bit odd to me that they had this problem with everyone and a few weeks later, all was fine.

People still seem to be waiting for a response...

Anyone know of this company? or hear anything about them?

in the topic Moved recently, no insurance but need a doctor. in the forum Healthcare in the Netherlands
Ok, So I haven't been here long but long enough that I should have some insurance sorted but I don't(I am working on that right now as I just signed a 1 yr contract with my employer after the 600 hours with the agency).

I have developed some type of infection along with swollen glands and should probably see a doctor but I don't know if I can just walk into a local doctor or if there is some special place or phone number for us in limbo.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks~
