  Hi all,
  
  I would like to know, what is the average cost of living and studying in the UK?
  Is there already a raise in the tuition fees?

  The tuition fees have not gone up yet but they will be going up soonish I guess. If you are applying to UK universities do so now as you might ok. Students who are enrolled on courses at the existing fees should not have the fees increased for their course. Having said that, this government can change plans very quickly and nothing is clear yet. Check this out with the individual University so you are clear. There are massive campaigns to resist fee increases. One thing you do need to know is that funding for Universities has been cut so that has meant less places. Students with very good qualifications are finding it hard to get places.
  
  UK students get a loan which they then pay back once working and earning a specified salary. Living costs will depend on where you study. It tends to be cheaper in the north with London being significantly more expensive. It also depends where you live: a shared house or halls of residence. I don't think it is easy to say how much it will cost as there are so many things to take into consideration.
  
  
  I would contact some universities by email and ask about the fees and accomodation cost. Some have really good websites to help with budgeting and this should give you an idea.

  It is important that you budget for the full cost of living in the UK when you come here to study. Here are some of the costs you can expect to pay as a single person, undergraduate or postgraduate, on a full-time course. This is a general breakdown for guidance only and depending on your lifestyle you may require more or less. We estimate that to cover the cost of accommodation and other living expenses, a self-supporting student should budget for at least £8,190 for the full 2010/2011 academic year (October to June including holidays), in addition to tuition fees.   I think if you're going to do law in colleges other than Oxbridge, university charges the range from 10,000-13,000 pounds/ year based on which university you go to and whether there's grant or not.
