  Hi all!
  
  I'm a Canadian who has been living in Germany for 11 years now.
  
  Due to my husbands work, we have moved around a lot, I've lived up and down and around the Rhine for the last 11 years, from Speyer, to Koblenz, to Cologne and now to Mainz. Due to this, I have had to find ways to find new friends. I used to use the "Kontaktbörse" at the website of the Freundin magazine, but they took that down in January after revamping their website. They promised for a while to put it back up, but now they have decided against it. Too bad, as I met a lot of really nice ladies there, and my best friend right now I met over that site.
  
  Anyways, I got a little annoyed that I don't have this option anymore, so I decided to make my own Kontaktbörse. It's only been up for a week, but I already have 40 members and almost 900 page hits. Maybe some of you girls here would be interested in checking out the site (sorry, guys, it is for FREUNDINNEN lol)

  nice...very nice idea Stephenie. I've checked out your site. However, if it is for newcomers (to Germany) trying to find friends, I'd suspect that they do not yet speak German (just like I take it you didn't speak it when you first arrived here).
  
  Am I wrong or is the site only for you in seeking friends who speak German or is it for others as well? Just asking since I am so ew here and everywhere I turn I feel lost regarding any type of solution that is given to me. And is there any way the web site could be in English for the newcomers who don't have 11 years of German speaking experience?

  Hi Lalala
  thanks for your post! The contact site is for finding friends in Germany, the most users are German ladies, that's why it is in German. However, I will look into getting the page put into english as well, the idea hadn't occured to me (talk about DUH!).
  
  Give me a few more days, then it should also work in English.

  thanks for your reply and for your efforts into trying to publish an English side to your Web site (for those who don't yet speak/read German fluently). I appreciate that a lot, as I too live in the Rhine region and it would be nice if I can find friends who speak both languages so that the communications scope is wider. thanks again and best to you!
