I thought he said he was born in France but his parents are Dutch... anyway, he's showing his true colours.

I dont see any Australian (or any other) govenment representative coming to the Netherlands and telling them to change their nationality regulations...

Actually the correct way to spell is المغرب. Morroco Marroco or Maroko does not count for the correct spelling.

Who cares?! We know WHAT you're referring to!

I had a great conversation with a Turkish butcher this evening about the dissimilarities between Moroccans and Turkish. He bemoaned the fact that the Dutch were unable, in general, to disseminate the difference. I agreed, having heard Turk/Moroccan being uttered in the same venomous way SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many times before by Dutch people.

Yes, "lekker goedkoop" but not always "lekker"! Most of the "stukje lamsvlees" is not "lamsvlees" but "schapenvlees" which is only lekker in a few dishes because it is old meat and because of its strong taste...

Relax!! Dual nationality, no big deal. Why not? I will only agree that one should give up other passports and have only dutch one IF he/she wants to take up a job in the Dutch government.

it's about the ambulance personnel getting attacked whenever they arrive at a scene to help people, and surprise, surprise a lot of ('veel') the people doing this are from Marrocco. wouldn't be surprised if 'veel' is an understatement trying to low ball it and it really is probably more like 'most'

So my message is short and simple, keep your Marrocan passport and hand in the Dutch one, and f*ck off!!, we don't need your lot here, go and f*ck up your own country, you are not welcome!

and don't tell me I'm racist, I would say the same if these trouble makers were from let's say Poland or Hungary or whatever, I don't care what the color of skin is, but it's always those fekkin' Moroccans that make the news like this, tell what is wrong with them?

It's not Moroccan people per se that are REALLY the problem, it's the Moroccan's that were sent here that are.

When the Dutch opened their doors to them, the Moroccan government wrung it's hands in glee ... send them the Berbers!!!

As I've mentioned before, I have a Moroccan Jewish friend who says that IN Morocco they joke that "Morocco is a VERY clean country. We send all our rubbish to Holland!".

Tell me, as I've only lived here 9 years now. Wasn't there major problems with Molukken youths 25-30 years ago in Holland? Then 20 years ago, Antilleans became the problem. More recently it's the 2nd generation Moroccans. The next stage WILL be the Polish if patterns of the influx of various diversities into Holland are anything to go by.

Don't get me wrong, I've been vocal here AND in my 'real' life as to the Moroccan 'problem' ... I live in the midst of it! The vast majority I treat with unadulterated contempt for their treatment of women, other ethnicicities, gays, old people, etc. But they WILL grow up, they will have children and THEN, and probably, ONLY then will the situation improve as the fathers, in full command of Dutch as second generation Dutch-born/educated adults start to rule their roosts with a firmer hand than their fathers have managed through lack of knowledge of Dutch and the strife to feed their ever-increasing families.

got them over here many years ago to clean the streets and toilets etc, you don't get the best of the bunch, same goes for the Turks.

Right, agreed, we didn't get the best and brightest to, like I said, clean the streets and toilets etc. we got the backwards hill tribe bunch. (I've been to Istanbul, very nice and modern city, blended with the local traditional stuff, girls wearing anything from full on burkas to mini pants/skirts and tight shirts etc, (but we got the bunch that are calling our girls hookers for the way they dress) and I can imagine the same for Morocco could be true.

The Antillean are still a big problem, the polish is of very short term, people came over here to get jobs (some wages went down because of it, and standards) but as the wages are going up in poland since it joined the union people are going back again, maybe Turkey should join the union too if was only for getting rid of them.

don't see that growing up happening anytime soon.

Time and again it's the Moroccans, if it isn't the Moroccans it's the Turks, if it isn't the Turks it's the Antilleans, but mostly the bloody Morrocans, don't see any sense in a proper debate with them, most of them don't seem to have enough braincells, if they had they wouldn't behave the way they do in the first place, just behave!! it's that simple, never any problems with (East) Asian immigrants (OK I'll give you the Molukkers, but that's the Dutch government's fault, they promised them help with keeping/getting? their independence from Indonesia and didn't do a d*mn thing, so brought that on ourselves to be honest)

but shouting works therapeutic didn't you know

What exacly is the problem then? The streets looks clean to me, with toilets there are still some issues, but is not bad. I don't know what it looked like before.
In addition, when they came what kind permits they were given, permanent or temporary? And do you really think that you can use people and dispose of them later like you would do with an obsolete computer?
What is the outcome of "inburgerization"? The "inburgerized" people, do they found that they are really "inburgerized" and made Netherlands a new home, or do they feel this only like a place where they are and that is all?
Talking to some people of foreign origin they told me Dutch people tolerate foreigners. They just don't notice them.
If you kick out Turks and Morrocans, who is going to do all this work? Where are you going to eat when you are on the street not close to home and you are hungry?

Aaah nothing like a reasoned debate. I would be the first one to admit that racism exists in Australian society and that we don't have a particularly brilliant record in regard to issues like the boat people but much of this can be laid fair and square at the feet of the government of the day, I mean John Howard has done more to tarnish Australia's international standing than probaly any other post-war prime minister, his right wing coalition teemed with hard-nosed bigots and I think would have made very good bedfellows for their dutch counterparts.

The dutch situation differs in that I think they have a very low regard for anyone not from their fair shores, in other words allochtonen versus autochtonen, it's just that kut morrocons and turks fall a little lower on the food chain than say an australian or brit or american but all are a threat to the " dutch way of life". This has not always been the case historically, but unfortunately it is the climate of today in the netherlands

Thanks Emilio, I guess there's a fair amount of baiting going on around here, posters making provocative statements about stuff they know little about just to get a "rise". I for one would rather not stoop to to that sort of behaviour, I still find it fascinating to see native-born dutchies infesting sites that are intrinsically designed to be a dissemination point for non-dutchies. Is it really for altruistic reasons or merely to stir the pot!?

There are a few Dutch-born regulars here who are genuinely altruistic.
