  i live around 20 minutes from amsterdam centrum.

  you should try looking in the classifieds posted on this site. I know there are a few listed, I contacted one and she seemed very nice...we just still can't bring ourselves to give a stranger a key to our place.....

  that's exactly how we feel about it too that's why i also steer away from real classified ads.. i thought if someone from this forum personally has this cleaning lady and she recommends it, it might be a bit more reliable..

  I used Nermin from Jordaan cleaning service for an end-of-rental-contract cleaning job. I had that "trust" issue in the beginning too, but she seemed a nice enough lady and showed me a lot of info to assure me when asked. She only started her company months ago and charges a relatively cheap rate.
  
  That said, I've only used her once but from that single experience I'd say she's reliable, the gets the job done. One small point is that her service was perhaps not as professional compared to standards I am used to in UK, she hardly brought any cleaning equipments with her, and had to ask me for cloths, cleaning liquids etc. That wasn't a problem for me, and I am happy with her work!
