    Oxfordshire Schools' Symphony Orchestra
The Oxfordshire Schools' Symphony Orchestra was established in 1987 to give advanced young musicians an opportunity to progress further after their time in area Music Centres. It is the second of the County's top youth orchestras with the members aged between 11 and 18 years and rehearses at the weekends and in the school holidays. The orchestra is made up of 80 musicians and each year works at an extremely high level on its repertoire. They end the academic year with a European Tour. In previous years, the orchestra has toured to Poland, France, Belgium, Spain, Germany, Slovenia and the Czech Republic.

    Oxfordshire Youth Wind Band
The Oxfordshire Youth Wind Band comprises around 30 young musicians of secondary school age drawn from various parts of the County of Oxfordshire. Although they meet on only a handful of occasions during each year, these include an intensive few days of music-making during the Easter school holiday. The Oxfordshire County Music Service also offers members the opportunity to attend as Saturday Band members who meet each week during term time. The woodwind, brass and percussion instruments represented in the band largely correspond to standard concert or military band scoring, although this varies according to the band’s membership: needs change as each cohort changes and our repertoire reflects this, some being arranged with specific players in mind. The band is conducted during the present tour by Jon Cox and Chuck Lloyd.
