I have been looking online and my head seems to be spinning trying to figure these things out. I like the look of the Maxi-cosi mobi. According to the maxi-cosi website it won’t fit in our Peugeot 307 sw, but online I have read comments that it would. But I also like the Graco Myride 65 from the US it is only 125 on the amazon.com but over £300 on amazon.co.uk.
I’d like to keep my kid rear facing longer than 13kgs which is what most of the maxi cosi will do.

Any other parents out there have a rear facing seat you are happy with?  Anything I need to be on e the look out for? Any seats you have been unhappy with and I should avoid?

    Thanks!  less

Also, I would highly recommend taking a class on the birthing process. It felt nice to be told things in English and I didn't feel I needed to rely on my midwife to help fill in the gaps of knowledge. Fingers crossed the delivery is smooth! :-)

Plus it may be a difficult transition to move here to NL towards the end of your pregnancy. But I do agree you need to discuss with your partner issues about parental rights and what would happen if you broke up.

I'd wait til a month or two before you leave. It is great you started with your dutch classes already. Since you'll have to wait a mininum of 1-2 months in the best case, I'd see if you could do dutch classes during that time. Classes you take before your residency permit will have to be paid out of pocket, but will be the best use of your unemployed time. Also, if your partner works at the uni, you might be able to take dutch classes there, perhaps at a reduced rate. Best of Luck!  less

My question-if you are a renter what are your rights while this sort of maintenence is going on?
Do you have to pay rent if you can't actually live in your apartment while work is being done?  Is your landlord obligated to help you find someone where to stay while the work is being done?  less

Has anyone on here had a child in the US(UK, OZ, NZ, Canada)- and one here in NL?
I just had my 2nd midwife appt. at 14 wks and it felt like there wasn't any point to it.
She took my blood pressure and listened to fetal heart. And that's it. She didn't ask how I was feeling, or weigh me or give me any general information about this time in pregnancy. And I don't have another apointment til the end of January around 20 wks.
There sill has not been any vaginal exam. It seems weird that you can get so far into a pregnancy halfway with no guidance or full physical exam....  more

Is it normal that you are sort of on your own to read up on what you should be doing//not doing during pregnancy or to reading up on what might be the sympotons you experience.
I would just like to see if this is the normal midwife experience and how it is done in other countries.
I look forwad to hearing your opinions.  less
