Is your wireless connection getting disconnected? And this does not happen when you plug directly? Then its not your internet connection per se but the connection between your laptop and wifi modem.

Sadly it happens with the wire in as well (although less often). I'm plagued by technology....

Did you not read the list of channels before you signed up? Not sure how you can complain about if afterwards.

    UPC works great for me.

For an english-speaker the channels that come with basic packages here are not bad in comparison to the rest of Europe. Move to Lyon or Rome and the only English speaking channels are BBC News and CNN.

I know, I know - Whilst I did read the list I was provided with, I didn't read through to the end which stated that most of them were part of a free trial. Service reverted back to the poxy ones yesterday, minus all the sports channels and the other half went off on one ohmy.gif)
The non-reliability of the internet is annoying as I need to use an application called VPN to log into my work and if you have to log in more than twice it locks you out for the day. An extra long cable is now halfway to doing the trick, eventhough it leaves me in a contorted position trying to balance the laptop on the coffee table!

Evert time I start feeling that the Netherlands might just be a little tolerable, something happens to wind me up again.

I need a reliable internet connection at my flat as I work from home sometimes. I also need as many TV channels as possible to entertain me and the other half as no Dutch people seem to be capable of forming new friendships once they pas the age of nine. (Sorry, they're really annoying me today).

I took out a Ziggo alles-in-een subscription which costs 50EUR a month for internet which drops out every 5 minutes and 60 rubbishy channels. The only upshot is that they seem to be the only provider with whom I don't need to tie myself to for at least a year. And I used to think that 40 quid for sky tv and internet was a rip off....

Does anyone have any advice on reliable internet and providers who don't cost an arm and a leg?
