    Worst timing ever. For all sides. There is no reason for the opposition to cheer. I doubt that they will be able to come up with an alternative that isn't equally drastic.

Most smaller businesses still have a layer of "fat" on their body's and are making profits but they're beginning to worry. The larger companies however are restructuring like crazy right now and have been doing so for the past 4 years. I work for an insurance company and just lost 15 colleagues this month(12 fte), all of them with permanent contracts. One of them with 41 years of service. Unprecedented scene to me and so is this world economic crisis. I cannot see the end of this.  less
