you mean even in crisis-ridden-Germany they live better than in Holland?
Germany is hardly 'crisis-ridden', but yes, basically everyone in Germany with a job has a better life than someone with an equivalent job in Holland. I chose Germany as an example, because Holland and Germany have a very similar same climate, culture and GNP per capita. Comparisons with a wealthier country and / or a more pleasant climate quickly makes the standard of living incomparable.
Would you prefer to measure wealth by the standard of living of the unemployed?
well i heard German unemployed get enough money from tythe state to even travel abroad. But many are moving to Switzerland cause there they earn 3 times as much as in Germany. But I dont know if Switzerland has the same tax problems as Holland which would make life harder
