If you have some spare time, the forums I linked to might be fun to read, because there are so many similarities in the complaints that it can't be a coincidence. Queuing, bags on train seats, customer service, rotten vegetables, you name it, it is there.

This is one of those things I don't understand. I am not saying it doesn't happen in the Netherlands, because it probably does. But how can a reply like that be considered acceptable or normal? Especially in a country with takes so much pride in being polite.   less

Even thought legal advice is free, I would strongly advice everyone to take a"rechtsbijstandsverzekering". It will cost you only a few euros a month, but it will make the difference should you really need a lawyer.

In the Netherlands the liability insurance for cars are tied (is that the right word?) to the vehicle. So regardless who drives it, the car is insured. (Provided that the driver has a legit driver's license, isn't under influence of alcohol, drugs, etc). Also important: only drive in the Netherlands with the car.
