in the topic driving license in spain. in the forum Legal Problems in Spain
    You're right Debbie
I have a letter from the Spanish Transport department confirming it

Under EU reciprocal agreements you are allowed to drive in Spain on a UK licence even though it shows your UK address. The UK authorities have agreed to this. Its useful to go and get your Spanish address put on the paper part and stamped by traffico if you can, but not required by law.

The only difference is that you still have to adhere to Spanish law, and therefore you must have a medical within 4 years of arriving in Spain, and you must continue to have them at regular periods depending on your age.

The whole thing is ridiculous when you think about it, but who was it that said the law is an ass!

Its far simpler of course just to get a Spanish licence and be done with it because half the Police that will stop you on the road wont know the law properly!!

    Arrrgggggggg!!!!!

Do you read what I write?
I dont have a UK address! The address on my licence (UK spelling), as oppose to license ( US spelling).
Didn t you pull someone up recently, on the way they chose to spell licence/license?
    Anyway, as I was saying . . .
The address on my licence ,is no longer valid in the UK.When I drive in the UK, I m braking the law.
As for my licence in Spain. As it stands, its legal!
If my UK address was still applicable, I would not need to change to a Spanish licence! One can drive in Spain ,on a UK licence, indefinately.
Show me the ruling that differs!!!! www.com tongue.gif

Really, never happened in my case.

When did Spain make it a rule to only sell to residents ?

You know best Lee, as always smile.gif
In Valencia province you can only buy and register a car in your name if you have an NIE and are on the padron or have a certificate from the town hall.

Clearly Valencia is different to the rest of Spain Lee as it seems to be in everything else rolleyes.gif

Can i ask how do I get my avatar up.

Sum how its in here rather than over there. sad.gif

Go to options, top right above here. Choose track thread, and you can do your avatar from there. Bit of a roundabout way of doing it, but thats the only way at the moment

Oh yep, there`s a whole lot of contradictions tongue.gif .
Its irrelevant that there`s a simple 1.5 pence difference in price, simply that people are paying far more in Spain than the UK.
That quote was spot on, no missed facts, just pointing out that people pay more Electricity in SPain.
Yeah, are you blind, I`ve been accused of trolling here and get constant grief.
    Do i care. laugh.gif
Funny how people only write here though when im here. rolleyes.gif
But all seriousness it is important people learn that whilst there is a price difference in Spain, that doesn`t give the whole picture.
As people have written on there, the first bills of 180,00 Euros came as a huge supprise, as they thought the consumtion price was lower.
Its even more important as people have found how difficult it will be to reduce the costs.
It`s a very good example of learning the difference, its a pity people haven`t been able to read that fact on here.
Guess the negativity is bad to learn before you leave.

    Ha ha ha .....
No, you just dont get it Lee.
You're twisting whats there to make your own points, and frankly its getting terribly boring now and people aren't stupid .. they can see right through you.

Fact. Electricity is cheaper in Spain than the UK. Its how you use it that makes the difference. You cant manipulate it. Its a fact. End of story. If anyone looks at BE then they will see that, and how you have tried to misrepresent my posts .... posts made on another forum.

And the point you make that people only post when you're here?
Maybe, but I can't be arsed any more so I wont be.

Maybe you'll be talking to yourself now or maybe bil if he's daft enough (which I'm sure he isn't) to continue speaking to someone who is only purposely trying to wind him up ... who knows ... good luck to ya! smile.gif

That has nothing to do with buying a car though, and you don`t register the car with the local council.

Its similar to the local Electral register in the UK.It allows the council to gain more money from central govt for local services such as rubbish collection etc etc.

Its not a legal thing though, you can register when you want, you won`t get arrested for not doin it, but you also won`t be able to vote etc etc.

It has everything to do with buying a car, as the dealer wouldn't release the car to us until we lodged it with them rolleyes.gif
