in the topic Dual citizenship, visas and work in the forum Immigration and Legal Problems
    Hi everyone -

I was hoping I might be able to get your perspective.

I am a US citizen and I will be working in France very soon (legitimately). My wife has dual citizenship with the US and an EU country (not France, but a full EU/EEA member). Her company will not allow her to to transfer to their office in France. We believe (and this is an assumption that we have not yet validated) that there are two sticking points:

    1) The company assumes that she will require residence, and that's a costly pain in the a**.

    2) They don't have any open jobs in France.

Is anyone aware of a way in which she could - using her EU passport - be entitled to simply live in Europe and yet keep her US-based job? We are trying to find legal ways for her to continue to be able to work for her company as a US-based employee.

    many thanks ...

    - JD
