in the topic Almere in the forum Housing in the Netherlands
    Hi,

I am thinking about buying a new build in Almere and am really keen to see any feedback before taking the plunge. The thoughts on this forum seem to be across the board, good for kids and family, not so good for nightlife. Although I did wander into Almere town centre this morning (after looking at the potential new house) and it did remind me of Basildon town centre, which can be good or bad, depending again on what you want. Lots of good shops, convenient parking, clean and did have a number of bar and restaruants as well as a nightclub!

We have seen a fab house, but it is making the decision to move from very pretty Amsterdam to a much bigger waterside house with a garage and off street parking - what luxury!

There are LOADS of properties for sale in Almere, which begs the question, are there too many houses for the population of Almere, if so, why are they building more? OR why are all the Almerians moving out? The street where we looked at a house this morning has three up for sale. If anyone know why the current residents of Almere are on the move, answers on a postcard please before I commit to yet more debt and another mortgage!

Any advice about Almere both the bad and if there is any good, please do let me know.

Thanks for any help and maybe see you in Milton Keynes -oopps sorry Almere town centre!

    Cheers
    Helen.

in the topic English Speaking Martial Arts Class in the forum Groups & Clubs in the Netherlands
English speaking Martial Arts Classes are now well underway and are going very well.

We have a mixed bunch of men and women of all shapes, sizes and abilities as ALL are welcome. Eveyone enjoys the classes as it combines self defence, carido vascular and yoga, leaving you fit and flexible with a bit more 'know how' about defending yourself whilst out and about on the streets of Amsterdam.

It is completely female friendly as works well no matter your height, build or strength. No 2 lessons are the same you you remain motivated every week.

The classes are every Saturday 12.00- 1.00 at Lizzy Ansinghstraat 88, 1072D Amsterdam. Tram 12 and 25.

If you want to know more, please feel free to email me back.

I look forward to meeting you there.

More information about the Martial Arts class I teach...

    What is Qi Kwan Do?

Qi Kwan Do is a practical self-defence programme which combines Yoga and Cardio vascular movements to make its students flexible, fit and toned.

Qi Kwan Do techniques are easy to learn regardless of age, gender, build or sporting ability and are immediately effective. Unlike some other Martial Arts, Qi Kwan Do is completely female friendly and works incredibly well regardless of your height, build or strength.

As well as improving balance and co-ordination, through Qi Kwan Do I have learnt how to reduce stress and increase energy, leaving me feeling and looking better.

Please come along to Lizzy Ansinghstraat 88, 1072RD Amsterdam (Oud-Zuid) any Saturday 12.00 - 1.00 to have a go.

    See you there.
