Can I claim any other expenses besides the 30 percent ruling? The following costs are considered to be extraterritorial costs and covered by the 30 percent ruling:    Cost of living allowance    Foreign Service premium/ overseas allowance    Cost for residency permit    Double housing expenses    Home leave    Language courses
Any other expenses, for instance mobile phone, or travel expenses, can be reimbursed free of tax in addition to the 30 percent ruling. Also, the cost of international schools for your children can be reimbursed tax free, on top of the 30 percent allowance.
Can somebody comment above pls? Is this info correct or not? What each item above means?

I also have 2 additional questions:

I also have 2 additional questions:

    - I have 30% ruling. Am i entitled to claim back taxes (6% from mortgage amount) from Belastingdienst which i paid when bought appartment in Netherlands 4-5 years  ago?

    - I had 2 polises with NN. A premium for earlier polis was  below EUR400, so i purchased it from NN. They paid me the net amount after deduction of taxes. Am i entitled to claim the taxes back from Belastingdients since i have 30% ruling?

    Thanks for your replies.

I think you mean that if you're an expat on a one year or temporary permit... don't second guess Prawo, he knows what he's talking about.

If you have a perm res permit then, well, local conditions apply.

Maybe the confusion is caused by the rule that an EU expat, arriving as a job seeker to a guest member state but having the local equivalent of the Dutch ww in the country he was previuosly staying in can take this ww to the guest member state for a maximum or three months.

However, for getting Dutch ww on the basis of a Dutch labour contract that expired, local Dutch law applies.

My friend is not EU citizen. She is from Panama. And she has a temporal residence permit as expat based on her job, which she lost. But her RP was valid at the date of application for WW Uitkering.....

I didn't mention it in my first post. That's why this confusion arised.
    Sorry for that smile.gif

I applied for my WW-uitkering three months ago myself and that is not entirely right. If you are elegible for one you get it for a minimum of 3 months. If you get more and how much is based on how long you have been working. You get one month's WW for each year you have worked with a maximum of 30.

Due to some old rules, every year above 18 years of age before 1998 automatically converts into one month WW-uitkering regardless of if you worked or not.

So in my case: 8 years of almost continous working plus 2 years above 18 in 1998 = 10 months WW-uitkering

That is not the information I got. How much money you get is calculated based on an average of what you have earned in the last 14 months, but you don't have to have been continously employed for that whole time. I can't recall how many, but there is a certain number of days you have had to work in the last year.

You get 75% of that monthly average for the first 2 months and 70% for the remainder of the WW months.

You also have to have worked for the same number of days per year for at least 4 years. If not, you will not get 70% of your last salary but 70% of minimum wage. I found that out the hard way a couple of years ago.

Also keep in mind that it takes them about a month to process your request.

    Hi..
    Thanks for your comments.
My information is related only to expats.
I read a few topics on this forum asking wether expats are entitled for WW Uitkering after they became unemployed.
I don't know if info which she got from IND officials is corrent, but I assume that they couldn't provide her with wrong info...

After registering on www.werk.nl she received a letter from CWI informing her that she will get first 2 months 75% of her salary, and 3rd month - 70% of her salary.
The only thing I know for sure (me and my frined called to CWI together).... if you are an expat you will get NOT more than 3 months WW Uitkering...and it doesn't matter if your were employed for 2 or 3 or 4 years.
