Showcase yourself and your art at Expatica's iconic “i am not a tourist” Expat Fair in Amsterdam on Sunday, 7 October 2012.

The one-day "i am not a tourist" Expat Fair which has been held in Amsterdam since 2004 allows expats to gather valuable information on living and working in the Netherlands. For more information on the fair, please click here.

Expatica is calling all artists, photographers, dancers, singers and anyone else with a creative or interesting skill. Can you create or show something that will challenge or enlighten (fellow) internationals living in the Netherlands?

Increasingly, many single professionals with a successful career lack a good way to find that special someone to share their life with. They typically have very limited time for social activities to meet new and interesting people. Expatica SpeedDate is a great alternative to the time-consuming, superficial bar scene and the agonising blind date. It provides you a structured opportunity to meet your soul mate, or at least have a great night out.

Upon arrival, you will receive a welcome drink and a list of the singles you will meet that evening. Once the dating starts, you will have three minutes to find a click with each single of the opposite sex. After each session, the guys move on for the next dating round. The finalists in the three award categories to be presented at the 2011 Expat Awards have been chosen! Following an impressive number of nominations for Expat of the Year, Expat Employer of the Year and Expat Service Provider of the Year, a shortlist of five finalists has been selected to compete in each category. Help us to choose the 2011 winners by voting online and stand a chance of winning one of five Sony E-readers Touch!

The Expat Awards have been created to recognise the efforts and successes of the International and Expat community in the Netherlands. They are a combined initiative from the international recruitment agency Undutchables, news site and service provider Expatica, and Nyenrode Business University.

All the finalists were carefully selected by an expert jury consisting of

Votes will be accepted until 5pm on 20 March 2011. Please note that it is only possible to vote once in each category. The winner in each category will be decided through a combination of public voting and jury assessment and announced at the awards ceremony which is to be held at Nyenrode Business University on Tuesday, 29 March 2011.

In Expatica’s second print photo competition, we invite readers to submit photos which will be used in the publicity for our annual “i am not a tourist” Fair.

The one-day fair which has been held in Amsterdam since 2004 allows expats to gather valuable information on living and working in the Netherlands. Over 4,000 visitors were at the "i am not a tourist" Fair last year.

In the past years, Expatica has published photos of Leidseplein, Amsterdam canals, narrow Dutch alleys and cyclists on posters, tickets and events guides of the fair. The winning shot of the 2009 photo competition was taken by Xavier Tassin and used to promote the fair of that year.

We are now inviting you to send in a photo which shows your perspective on living abroad in the Netherlands.

The winning photo will be printed on:

• Posters
• Tickets
• Events guides
• Survival guides

The rules:

• Each contestant can submit three photos.
• Photos have to be submitted by 31 May 2010. The winner will be announced on Monday, 14 June 2010.
• Photos should be at least (2238 pixels by 3456 pixels) and preferably horizontal.
• Photos should be sent to expaticaphotos@gmail.com. Please also include your name and contact details.
• The selected photo will be published and credited accordingly. The winner will also be featured in an interview.
• Expatica reserves the right to exclude entries it considers invalid.
