Hello forum. I am hoping those in the know can help me better understand the basic taxation as it relates to company cars. I do understand that in most cases, the employee is paying income tax on some percentage of the value of the company car across 3-4 years (for example 25% of the value of the car each year is considered taxable income). I also undertand that some hybrid cars take that taxable amount down to 14%. I am curious about the Opel Ampera. I have heard that this particular car is considered efficient enough that there is an exemption from any taxable amount as added income. Note, this has nothing to do with road tax, etc, just the "benefit tax" of the company providing a car.
If the Ampera is exempt from such a tax, has it been stated how long the goverment is willing to support that?
At any rate, thanks for any information you have!
