From what I can learn, the Opel Ampera is listed as a 0% bijtelling at the current time. As I also understand it, if you start the lease on the car before the end of December 2012, it is assured by the government that the 0% taxation will be in effect for the following 5 years (or end of lease, which could be less than 5 years). After December things could possibly change, but things are not clear if they actually will for the Ampera.

If the Ampera is exempt from such a tax, has it been stated how long the goverment is willing to support that?

At any rate, thanks for any information you have!  less

Hello Britt.  I know you made this post over a year ago, but my wife wanted to get in contact with you to see if you are still open to doing dog exchanges.  We have a dog of our own and sometimes take care of dogs for friends on holidays, but we are also looking for a reliable dog exchange person as well.  It seems to send a private message in Expatica, you need to be friends, thus I have sent a request to you.  Or you could post here and we could sort it out.  My wife and I live ...    less

Hello forum.  I am hoping those in the know can help me better understand the basic taxation as it relates to company cars.  I do understand that in most cases, the employee is paying income tax on some percentage of the value of the company car across 3-4 years (for example 25% of the value of the car each year is considered taxable income).  I also undertand that some hybrid cars take that taxable amount down to 14%.  I am curious about the Opel Ampera.  I have heard that this particular car is considered efficient enough that there is an exemption from any taxable amount as added income.  Note, this has nothing to do with road tax, etc, just the "benefit tax" of the company providing a car.

    Hello Jaclyn:

We saw your post about watching dogs. My wife and I would be interested in meeting you with our dog, so you can see if everyone gets along. From your other posts, it seems you walk in the Beatrix park area. We do too. Also, we sometimes take care of the dogs of our friends when they travel, so perhaps an exchange could be another option for us too. To contact us, could you send a private message via the Expatica forum? We could exchange personal info that way and then decide if we want to meet.
