Blizzard Dumps Snow on Copenhagen as Leaders Battle Warming
Denmark has a maritime climate and milder winters than its Scandinavian neighbors. It hasn’t had a white Christmas for 14 years, under the DMI’s definition, and only had seven last century. Temperatures today fell as low as minus 4 Celsius (25 Fahrenheit).

The truth will set you free.
!!!!! that's not sustainable thought!
Looks like the eggheads enjoy throwing dramas at us. Or maybe they're getting some coin out of it.
I wouldn't mind so much except that there are a billion starving people on the planet, and 25,000 children died today of starvation. This is like a splinter infecting our soul. We will never progress as a species until we solve this one thing first.

For me it's a crime photographers who wins World Press Photo awards, with pictures of child awaiting for his own death, skin like a rat, and a desproportioned head...
While this photographer it's having his own pleasures in orgy parties, celebrating his award....

Climate change and the cap and trade system is completely about money.
The idea of buying credits to become carbon neutral is absurd. Perhaps instead of a fiat based currency, we could structure a new international currency based on projected carbon emissions.![]()
In 5-10 years, the hype around global warming will be viewed as a fad from the 00s decade. Hopefully Al Gore will be disgraced.

M I know which photograph and photograper you're referring. The truth is that photographer committed suicide not long after. Just wanted to set that one straight, although I do understand your sentiment.

People do I read it well, or Wanda is starting to recognize that Global warming is actually happening?
BTW, I also think cap and trade system is about money, not about saving the Planet.

Please put me on record, once again, telling you that Cap and Trade is the biggest scam ever.
The people that ran the marketing are simply brilliant though completely unscrupulous.

One thing is global warming/climate change and the other thing is how we respond to it.
wanda_2005 (Dec 20 2009, 02:47 PM) said: > original post
Then put me on record saying that climate change poses no greater risk in 2009 then it did fifty years ago.
I would support an initiative that cuts the number of cars worldwide by 50% though.

How many limos pulled up to the front door in Copenhagen?
wildrosecountry (Dec 20 2009, 04:13 PM) said: > original post
Here is what should have happened:
- Find out scientifically what caused global warming millions years ago. Indications are that GREENHOUSE gases from volcanic activity produced greenhouse gases. Geological evidence is available at our disposal.
- Find out if there is a global warming now.
- If there is, are the humans causing it.
- If it is is indeed caused by the human activity, how should we deal with.
I think there is broad consensus on most of the points, but for the last one: How to deal with it? Now we are exiting scientific and entering political aspect of it.
Do I make myself clear Wanda?

Add a couple more:
1. can the primary drivers of climate change be controlled by man, e.g. sun spots, solar flares, etc?
2. is climate change a serious threat?
There is not broad consensus on your points.
In the 1970s, there was fear of a new ice age coming. In the 1980s, overpopulation was a big scare. In the 1990s, there was serious discussion about the world running out of natural resources, especially minerals.
If you want to be a global warming doomster, that is your choice.
In any case, I support a major reduction in cars.
