Today our car broke down at the supermarket carpark and needed a push. Who volunteered to push with me? Was it the 30-something Dutch guy in his 4x4? Was it the bloke on a bike? The young lads sat there smoking? No - it was a 60+ year old WOMAN who was walking by: didn't say a word, just put her shoulder in, next to mine, and pushed. Bless you, mevrouw! You are worth a million young guys any day of the week.
I was on the bus the other day when a 4000 year old man stepped on. As per usual everyone was all of a sudden very busy with their phones, so I stood up and offered my seat. Then when another young passenger realised that the only person to offer her seat was an 8 and a half month pregnant woman, she must have felt some shame and moved so I could sit back down. Nice hey.

Joran v.d. Sloot pleaded guilty today in court to the murder of Ms. Flores. Not a word of this on Expatica or DutchNews.nl. Strange...Not really, it's barely just happened...
They don't seem to update their news articles particularly often. DN seems to be only once or twice a day and never on weekends, like Pepe says. They dijks could burst and half the country could be underwater, but it if happened on a Sunday, you won't read it on DN.

I don't think reading DN under water would be the first thing to come to mind...

I was really surprised to find out that Invader Stu did look a bit different from his cartoon irl.
I once gave readers the option to vote on if I should add a beard to the cartoon and they all said no :p
Well there has to be a line drawn somewhere....if pilots could marry people, next thing you know, train, bus, tram, rickshaw drivers would also want to do it. We don't want things to end up like in america where everyone just buys their priesthood and university degrees so they can get good jobs in highly qualified positions of authority without having to study or even be very clever.

You can't go blaming me for that whole lot. I have my own personal brand of crazy.
Americans are ok - its just a shame the US government are such warmongers and liars.
