  I am preparing to emigrate to NL, but one piece of info still eludes me: Can someone tell me how long it will take me and my wife (both SA born with no Dutch relatives) to become Dutch citizens through the naturalisation process?

  Hi, I am doing it now. Married to dutch citizen, doing exam at Embassy, Lusaka, will keep you informed on how long it will take me. Hoping before August 2012 to be in Rotterdam.

  you need to live here (i.e. be registered here) for 5 years before you can apply for citizenship. if you have a dutch partner, then it you can apply after 3 years. please be aware that you will need to give you your south african citizenship if you wish to become dutch.
