Hi All
I've recently been refered to the AMC (Academisch Medisch Centrum) Amsterdam. I'm 8 weeks pregnant and, because of my age (36) and health history I'd rather go the hospital route.
Does anyone have any experience with the AMC? My first appointment was yesterday and they kept me waiting for over an hour - not a great first impression.
And, does anyone know what my alternatives are? Can I tell my GP that I'm not happy with the AMC and what her to refer me to another hospital/ someone else instead?
Thanks!
I can not make any comments on the AMc regarding pregnancy / birthing. but I had an accident playing football 3 weeks and Ruptured my Patellar Tendon, requiring surgery and I can tell you EVERY SINGLE person from the cleaners to Orderlies to nurses to doctors and specialists were excellent. and not being a Dutch speaker, had zero issues.
it is true to be seen can take soem time for follow ups, but the trick id to get the first apt in the morning or the first one after lunch then you dont have effects of knock on delays.
Good luck !
