Hi fellow Expaticas,
I’ve been doing research regarding 30% ruling and have some questions regarding job change, can someone please help?
It’s all about how to keep the ruling.
I’m a non-EU national benefiting from ruling for 4 years. Now, if I switch job (different company), I believe I’ll need to reapply the ruling. My understanding is the “to be recruited from abroad” is not applicable to me since I was hired from abroad at the first place? Is this correct? I should be more or less safe as long as the salary is not a problem?
For the minimum salary, is it €50,000, or €51,239 (KM minimum for over 30 years old)? I know ruling and KM are not exactly aligned. But, in order to keep the ruling, do I have to maintain the KM permit? I think not, but again, would like to make sure.
Finally, if one day I apply for Dutch passport, can I still keep the ruling? I get different answers for this one, some people say yes some say no. But I called Belastingdienst, and was told I could still have it for the remaining years since the ruling was granted before I become Dutch. Would someone have the experience tell your successful story?
Lots of questions, but any answer will be appreciated!

I had the 30% ruling for 10 years from 2000 to 2010.
When you change jobs ... you will be safe as long as you meet the [new] salary requirements.
The mininum salary requirement for the KM permit is not related to the minimum salary requirements for the 30% rule. They are unrelated.
In fact, when I moved here in 2000, there were no KM permits - if you came here for work - you had to get a Working Permit and there was no salary reguirement to gain a Working permit.
There was no salary requirement to gain the 30% rule either ... they just brought that onto the 30% ruling this year.
If you apply for a Dutch passport sure - you should maintain the ruling. I got a Permanent Residence permit after my first 5 years but I retained my 30% 5 more years .. up to the full 10 years.
In fact some 30% people are themselves Dutch .. they just came BACK to The NL so they qualified for the 30% rule.
You don't have anything to worry about.

HI I have the 30% ruling for 10 yrs I almost completed 6 yrs in the present company. Now I am about to get Dutch Citizen ship. What will happen to the 30% ruling if I change the company, being a Dutch citizen? Appreciate the reply GKNB
Being a dutch citizen doesn't affect your ruling, you can still have it for 4 years.
But, if you also change job at the same time, I think two affects: one is you'll need to meet the minimum salary requirement, two is you'll have only 2 years left? I'm not so sure about the second as I also read somewhere that as long as you passed the first 5 years the new regulation doesn't apply to you. Hope someone else can confirm.
Good Luck!

My husband worked for IT Company A, that was then outsourced to Company B (contract was taken over by company B although he still worked at the same site), and then Company C bought out Company B. Isn't life in IT wonderful? Anyway....
on each occasion, the new 'employer' needed to reapply for the ruling, and it was never a problem.
If your company is taken over, the terms and conditions must remain the same (I think) although I don't know if this is goodwill or Dutch law.
Hi Fellow members
I have the following situation:
I have 30% ruling issued fpor 10yrs and used it for 7 years.
My present company was bought by another company. This company is not registered with IND.
Does anybody know the procedure for this so that I can ask my future company HR to register with IND so that I can still use my 30% ruling. Otherwise, I will be poorer by few hundreds of Euros per month, which will be tough for me.My new company is told me to enquire myself for this :(.
What would be the time line to get registered with IND for any company? and the procedure?
Your help in this is much appreciated.
Rgds
