Which companies do you think employ most internationals?

Hi,

We are doing a small research to find out the top 25 Expat employers in the Netherlands.

We'd like to hear which companies you think deserve to be on the list. We primarily look for companies that employ most number of expats.

Are you going by sheer numbers, ratio of expats to Dutch or the "best" when it comes to working conditions, perks, etc?

Shell, easily.

Siemens. Philips. Leica. Aramco.
Some of the universities, maybe? (Leiden, Delft, Groningen)
Any of the European agencies (EPO, Eurojust, Europeana)
Multilingual recruitment agencies
Call centres - Booking.com *haha* :)

I know a lot of expats in Fluor and Nike,... I will try to think about more,...

Hmm...maybe Nike, but Fluor is pretty Dutch. There are some, but, unless they work on a job site, the Dutch dominate.

There are more expats at both Genzyme and Excerpta Medica I think.

Maybe TomTom? That being said, like Fluor, it was pretty vulnerable during the worst of the economic turndown a couple of years ago. Lots were laid off; I don't know if they were ever replaced...

i guess Rabobank, ABNAmro, ING also have a large number of expats

You count PwC? Applying for a job there requires that you speak Dutch...

A friend works at Reed Elsevier at Sloterdijk and they employ a huge amount of expats

UPC Broadband's EU headquarters are in Schiphol-Rijk, and the majority of my co-workers are not Dutch.

Maybe HP, Dell or other large software company.

They probably have offices here (although I don't know where offhand), but most of what we've mentioned above are the EU headquarters of international offices. Or head offices period of Dutch companies that have gone international, like TomTom or Philips.

Elsevier is probably the biggest employer of Expats in the Amsterdam area.

Then of course you have all the big advertising agencies - companies like Weiden + Kennedy and 180 are predominantly staffed by Expats.
