My name is Stacey M. Fehir and I am a PhD student in the industrial and organizational psychology program at Florida Institute of Technology. I am the daughter of a repatriate which has sparked my interest in this area of study.
My research is attempting to reveal the gap between communication from the home organization with expatriates, and, consequently, the negative affects it has on them upon return.
To accomplish this I am searching for participants who have expatriated (as a corporate employee) for a minimum of one year to a country outside of their own. Following the assignment, participants will need to have returned to the organization that sent them on the international assignment. This can be any repatriate experience from your past.
The twenty minute survey assesses your perceptions regarding the amount and type of communication you had with the home organization, cross-cultural adjustment, satisfaction and intentions to leave your organization after repatriation. Data compiled from your responses will be kept strictly confidential at all times, and no identifying information will be obtained. I will also provide a written report of the studies findings with recommendations to anyone who would be interested.
The study was originally intended for an American sample, but has now been opened to gather information from repatriates from all countries. Therefore, if you did not repatriate back into a North American company please complete the demographics questions as best as you can.
