We’ve just heard of plans to build 3 blocks in front of our flats.
The neighbourhood is up in arms and there’s to be a meeting later in the year. This will be organised by the Bauamt.
When confronted with a similar situation in the UK some years ago, the neighbourhood formed an ad hoc committee. We collected money and engaged a planning consultant to help us fight our case. With his help, the plans were refused.
People here are talking about engaging a Rechtsanwalt – is this the normal person to help in such matters? Our man in the UK was well versed in planning and architectural matters and able to put forward specific technical points to the planning committee; also to the inspector who was called in when the case went to appeal.
Do ‘planning consultants’ exist in Germany?
