Thanks for pointing all readers to the cool site! Have you tried any of the routes? If so, which ones would you recommend?
Oh yes. I have tried the national park of Sierra Nevada and the nature park of Grazalema in Andalusia, some routes in Valencia, a number of routes in Pyrenees (Huesca, Aragon) and now I am heading to the national park of Picos de Europa asap.
Thanks to this website it is finally easy to find the routes - especially those, which are right for you!
The walks in Grazalema are gentle and easy. Sierra Nevada offers both challenging and easier walks. Valencia is a very good place to start hiking - even short walks offer versatile landscapes.
Pyrenees is the most challenging and rewarding. If you want to climb the highest peaks, it is better to stay overnight in some of the refugios. But I prefer routes with views to the mountain tops.
The valley of Ordesa was perhaps my favourite in Pyrenees:
You can find the links to the Valley of Ordesa routes here:http://www.topwalks.net/en/ordesa_monte_perdido.htm
Looking at the pictures of the Picos de Europa http://www.topwalks.net/en/picos_de_europa.htm
, I think that I have not experienced the most beautiful mountains yet.
I will start a new thread "walking and hiking in Spain" one of these days. It would be nice to hear where the others have been.
