  Hello,
  
  As an Australian student is it possible to claim back the VAT I have paid on items since living here (less than 12 months)?
  
  If so can credit card statments be used as receipts or will I need actual store receipts?

  Surely VAT's only claimable back if you're a business? You could probably apply to claim back excise duty and maybe some other taxes at the airport when you're leaving? I'm sure you'd need till receipts for that.
