I found this to be a great way to live somewhere, meet new people immediately (students) and network globally. From teaching English in multinational companies, I've seen people use the teaching to get into the career they wanted, in their field. I think it's a great way to be independent and learn a little about ones self. I quit my investment banking job in 2001 and moved to Barcelona to do a TEFL course. Since then I've lived and taught English in Prague, England, Milan, Sicily and in Spain. All fantastic experiences. Even those who aren't a teacher "by trade" - this has been a great way to be able to find work, meet great contacts and live abroad. Kevin
