Hello forumites
I live in Huesca, Northern Spain and in September my daughter (almost 14) is going to study for one year at a Lycee in a small Pyrenean village called Argelés-Gazost. She is required to have a "famille correspondant" nearby and while I believe the school will try and help with this through the local parents & teachers association, I would be interested to know if any ex-pats in the area would be interested.
The family are required to be on "standby" for any emergencies that may arise throughout the year and possibly have the student to stay at weekends, on public holidays etc.
It's a responsibility I admit, but for a famliy with similarly aged children, it might be an interesting option. In return, we would be delighted to welcome the family to Spain and help in any way we could re Spanish language education.
It's a long shot as I can't imagine that there are many Brits near Lourdes, but I live in hope!
I can be contacted at
kathyinhuesca@hotmail.com if there are any takers.
Many thanks!
