Dear Forum Users,
I am in Paris on a year long voluntary internship (meaning I receive no France-based income during my internship). I do have an international income, however, that easily satisfies the 3x requirement of income versus rent.
Further, my French partner who is on a France-based contract-based job DOES NOT satisfy the 3x requirement of the place we would like to move out to (approx. 1500 Euros / month rent).
Does this put us out of the running when it comes to renting a place in Paris ? I would rather find a place myself to avoid the agent's fee but I would like to be sure of this fact before I begin hunting.
Also, in case I tire of the hunting, do you know of any agents who would be helpful in this regard given my particular situtation?
Many thanks in advance for your advice and apologies if this replicates an earlier post (a search did not turn up anything relevant),

Siram, you didn't mention how big a place you were looking for or whether it is to be furnished or unfurnished. I think 1500 Euros/month puts you pretty much out of any area in Paris (except areas you may not feel comfortable in) especially if you add in utilities etc. Depending what area, a 2/3 bedroom in the 7th, 15 and 16th can run around 3000 - 4500. Most Landlords also demand 2 months in advance.
A good place to start looking is, of course this site, the free monthly newletter FUSAC or perhaps even through your particular Embassy or the 2 main international organizations OECD and UNESCO whose staff and friends will post places for rent.
