  I travel to Paris at least twice a year and I am looking for a way to keep from throwing money away on hotel rooms and rent. Any ideas out there? I would like to get some kind of return on my investment so I do not want to do a time share.

  I think a solution will be to buy a flat then rent it out when you're not in Paris (short rentals maybe?). Here is a website which has a list of House prices and rents in Paris. I think buying a flat will be a very good investment for you since house prices have been rising. If you decided to purchase property in Paris, here's France's Buying Guide

  There is another new way to buy called fractional ownership. I've recently seen some ads for companies offering fractional properties in Paris - one is called Paris Pied a Terre or something like that, and I just googled fractional and Paris and came up with this as well: http://www.fractionalparis.com. It looks like they offer several properties.
  
  My sister and her husband have been wanting to buy in Paris for awhile now and have just started pondering this as an option. I'll let you know if I find out anything more.
