  Hi,
  
  I am a non-EU person who has been working in Belgium for last 2 yrs. I recently got my 3rd WP renewed which is valid from 2009 - 2010.
  
  When I went to the commune for extending my residence permit, which they normally do for 1 yr based on WP. This time, they gave me a letter from ministry about "sejour illimité".
  And gave me a paper (for electronic card) to sign where the validty period mentioned was 5 yrs.
  The treatment in commune was also different..they wanted me to talk in French / dutch and not in English.
  
  Can you please tell me what this "sejour illimité" mean ? What are implications ? Is my 3rd WP still valid (2009 - 2010) ?
  
  I seriously don't know the consequences of this. Can somebody advise please ?

  according to Belgian law, you need to have your 5th WP to have this unlimited residency permit...but it seems different commune treated this differently...
  
  Can I know which commune do you live?

  Its brussels commune...
  can I know the consequence of this ? I am an expat..

  you don't need to extend your RP every year, only 5 years and do not need work permit in order to extend it anymore
  
  so enjoy it.

  Hi,
  
  I have been offered this card as well after my 4th work permit.
  
  Will I need to get a new work permit to continue working after the expiry of my current work permit?
