  Hi all,
  
  Newcomer to Belgium here, what is the complete percentage markup you pay for new and used homes added to the advertised value.
  
  I hear figures between 15 and 25%. For instance i saw a house advertised for 135,000 which does not include residence tax , notaris, btw etc. What percentage could i expect to pay on top of the 135,000 to secure.

  Add 15%. Just bought a place for 275000 EUROs, total cost is 316000 to have the keys. The Government of course makes a packet off you. Its saves them creating jobs for the lazy Belgies.

  yep. 15% on everything. It was built in 2003, if its under 2 yrs old you pay 21% stamp duty otherwise 7 or 8 %, can't remember, too much beer... thats in Brussels, in Flanders I believe the rates are different.
