Taxes in Belgium are up to 55% but at a gross of 3000 your net take home is likely to be around 1500 or 1600.
You're likely to be saved by the non-cash perks if you've negotiated that (Car, gas card - approx 600 euros value, insurance, medical & dental plans and completely useless things like cellphone, laptop etc.,)
You should hunt for your own accommodation and when you do you're likely to find a two-bedroom place for around 650 euros in one of the multi-cultural areas; if you go via a real-estate agency, it can go up to 800 - 900.
