  I am new to Expatica and am trying to meet people..
  From Ozzies to South Africans to Americans to anyone else...
  
  I have made 2 postings so far, people are viewing them, but virtually no responses...
  
  
  Lets try and make a community here, lets make this place active!...

  Welcome to the Belgian forum...sighs...Take a peek over at the Holland one...heheh they are by far the most active on the discussion broads.
  
  once in awhile a q and a gets answered but for the most part it can be months before I see anything.
  
  So I am saying hi to you! I live in near the Holland border here in Belgium and have been trying to find someone to chat with in English,find a friend or two...not easy since I don't live in the areas that have a lot of expats in fact here in town I am the only one. lol....

  Yay!! A response Yes you are so right, that the Belgium side is quiet..
  
  I would really like to see this improve. Belgium is such a dead end place, but it can change if people change and become active in things!
  
  Or perhaps I should move to Holland! (If only it was an option to leave here!)

  I just moved to Ghent. Almost everyone speaks english to me, especially after they hear my accent, when I am trying to speak dutch/ flemish ;-)
  
  It would be nice to meet some folks to be able to meet up with for a few beers, or whatever. It has been kind of difficult to connect with the locals....
  
  PM me, if there is anything going on. I am willing to travel to Antwerp, or Brussels too!

  My husband and I are not new to Belgium (been here over 2 years now) but we are originally from the USA and just got around to this expat website. We would love to make some English-speaking friends in our area to hang out with. Neither of us speaks much French, so mixing with the locals is a challenge. Most of our friends at work have kids and not much time to go out drinking/dancing...we're looking for a younger crowd. We're both 26 and we have no children. Send us a message if you want to meet up sometime! Closest place for us is Brussels, we're about an hour South of that.

  Hi we have a small community of Americans here in Brussels. we often meet for drinks and watch live sports. If your hubby is interested we play ball every Sunday around 2 pm in Brussels.

  Hello forum, I am an American moving to Brussels from New York City in early July. I'm 27. I'm originally from California. I would love to find a group of Americans to get together with once in a while. I've spent some time in Brussels and my French is pretty good but I'm still kind of reeling over the news of the move. Any tips would be much appreciated?

  Oh! Also, I am very disturbed about missing (American) football season in the fall, if there even is one this year. Stealth183 - is there somewhere that shows those games? I'm guessing the time difference would make that unrealistic...

  Don't worry you won't miss the NFL. Once you arrive, get Balgacom the local cable company, they carry espn america and it shows the NFL. The games are usually 7pm (for the 1 o'clock game), and 10:30 pm.
  
  It would a good idea to get a DVR as well to record MNF and watch it on Tuesday cause that one comes on late. For the SB we usually host a party at a bar dowtown called fatboys and should you not be able to get cable here you can watch games there as well.

  Hi, I've been in Brussels for months, most of the friends I have made outside of work just ended their assignments here and are back in the States. If anyone ever wants to meet up let me know. I'm a pretty active guy, are there any sporting clubs or anything here?

  Hi guys, I have a great idea to become active : join the best American Football team in Belgium, we are only one hour away of Brussels and would love to have some experienced American Footballplayers.
