Boots Pharmacy in NL! YAY!

Boots Pharmacy in NL! YAY!

A place to get things with instructions/descriptions in English!

I may be late in discovering this as I only mad e the discovery friday when I had an appointment in Utrecht. As you pass the Boots pharmacy as you come out of the train station.

But Boots pharmacy has a few locations here! I am so excited. And unlike a lot of products here in NL, most of the dutch instructions are on a sticker that doesn't cover up the english.

So excited and just wanted to share.

And they have pharmacy products to not just beauty stuff too!

I keep meaning to get to the one in Amsterdam to see if they have my No 7 tinted moisturizer with sunscreen...I'm running out!

Thanks for confirming that they still exist...I've seen the website before but since nobody has ever discussed it here, I thought they had since closed or it was so pitiful it wasn't worth discussing!!!

Haven't been to the AMS ones yet, but the one in Utrecht was quite big. Apparently fairly new as well. The No. 7 brands were in a display with all the Boots Makeup separate from the other boots facial care. At the one in utrect they are running a 20% on the Botanics line. It is worth a visit, and the products seemed quite reasonably priced.

I went to the one in Utrecht ( UIn fact I specfically went to Utrecht to go to boots and sephora) and thought it was crap. There was hardly any stock on the shelves and what they did have I wasnt interested in - They did appear to have the entire No7 range though CW. And it wasnt that big. though if it is fairly new that might explain alot. (I was there just befre new year)

I would say for an international drug store version it was pretty comprehensive.
They have the No. 7 lines, they had a pretty full Botanics line (I got a new face cream) they have lots of the Boots plain lines.. blue, green and white packaging. I also purchased some eye cream in the Time Delay line. They have tea tree & witch hazel face stuff. They have lotions in the big tubs like the Body Shop.

They also have bandaids, lady products, toothpaste.

I know... I spent way too much time just wandering around and looking at what they had, but it was such a pleasant surprise to find it.

korrok-At the station Utrecht CS go up the escalator to the Central Hall, towards ‘Hoog Catharijne’ shopping area. Walk straight ahead and after some time you will see on your right, the cash machines for the ABN AMRO Bank, here you turn right. Walk till you cannot go further (past the Albert Heijn) and on your left hand side you will see revolving doors to go outside. Go down the escalators. Once downstairs make a left (towards the Dom tower)

Boots is your left. (These directions are lifted from an email to me)

Sabetsu- I think the Kruidvat is the closest thing the dutch have to American pharmacies... meaning they sell lots of random items. But I don't think you'll ever be able to buy some beer & Chips at the drug store. When I lived in Boston, I spent WAY TOO MUCH time in my local CVS.

Yeah, like an Etos I guess...or a more upscale Walgreen's in the US (are those still around?). Boots had a few outlets in Canada about 20 years ago so that's why I know about it. Apparently they also have a face cream that's been scientifically proven to help with ageing (that's not ad-speak...it was an independent study reported by the BBC).

I need to visit...I'm such an obsessive fine-print label reader, so I hate guessing what I'm putting on my face...

Walgreen's had a huge growth in 2008. They are on every corner now it seems, and are quickly becoming the drug store of choice. According to some innocuous, they are the largest chain now in the US, with some 7,600 locations, and more opening every day.

Ah, okay! I used to live a four-hour drive northeast from Duluth Minnesota (the northernmost part of Dylan's Highway 61), so long weekends in the US were pretty common...as was bringing a shopping list full of stuff we couldn't get at home, such as my (ex) MIL's Dexatrim and African-American hair products...and check out all the stuff we only knew from TV advertisements...

Weirdly though, the weather back home is much the same this week...it's going to be 6 and cloudy on Tuesday and 8 and rain on Wednesday!! I don't care about the temperature...I just want SUN!

Yes, I've known Boots were in the Netherlands for the last few years, there were only three stores back then so I'm glad to see there are now more. Unfortunately I still haven't been to one yet, the two in Amsterdam aren't really in the best of places to get to so might try going to Utrecht for the day...

Back in Maine we don´t really have Walgreens, just Rite-Aid. Ah, rural areas, gotta love 'em.
