  Hi All,
  
  I will shortly be moving to Amsterdam from Canada (currently working in London). I will be changing gears completely and want to get into business for myself. I guess you could say I am currently an aspiring entrepreneur with some plans. Was wondering if there were any expat entrepreneurs out there who have set up businesses in NL and would be interested in sharing their experiences with me. I just sort of want to get a feel for how hard it is to set up a business in NL etc. I'm also concerned there will be language issues etc. If anyone is interested in sharing any wisdom, let me know!

  Hello, since you are planning to put up a business, I guess you'll need a tool like this with feature that is useful for your business networking with entrepreneurs.   I have just set up my own business after living here for 2 years. I became disillusioned with the job market here and Dutch employers so decided to go it alone - alone literally.   I know it's an old thread but just posting to provide some support to anyone thinking of starting their own business. I was a professional software developer and sick of my job with the same company after 7 years... my prospects were zero as I didn't speak fluent Dutch and so I was stuck in a job I didn't want to be in. I started my own business in website design and sold it after 2 years. I then started a fashion retail business and just sold it after 3 years. If you have a flair for learning and you're not afraid to go it alone then you can do it.. doesn't matter what sector. It's your mindset that matters!
