...you name it there is no end to it..., because each of your friends or relatives are linked to you which also give some of the information about you indirectly/directly .....

Admin - could you please remove mkitchells post.
Stalking is a serious problem on the increase and I think posting links to crap songs from crap singers is inappropriate.

Not demonstrating much class or good taste (musically or otherwise), but also not against any rules unfortunately, mr. fook.

Oh please, that Maxwell song is an 80s classic.
Quit taking yourselves so seriously, its not like your silly post Fook is going to make a whit of a difference. Its just more attention seeking.

1. "80s" and "classic" is an oxymoron.
2. Do you like anybody here? Why would you hang out here if you don't?

I have always liked you a lot, in fact I was just wondering how your employment situation was. Oh well.
Sorry, many people thing 1980s were the penultimate period for good pop music (pop music, not other forms) and that Maxwell tune was a nice gem.
Canucky, I still think this is a great place (or can be) for expat info, but the amount of mental masturbation and attention-seeking is ridiculous. Personally (and yes its my opinion so most will disagree) if the attention seekers actually posted from time to time on topics that are helpful to expats (housing, legal, jobs, etc) then it would be one thing. But they launch their little campaigns on this and that instead. I mean, if you really care about such issues then do something about it. Posting about it the same 20 people on Expatica is not doing anything for your issue.
With over a year and half on the ground here, I have meet tons of people who avoid this place due to the constant political bickering, personal vendettas and anti-Dutch sentiment. I find that a shame since it should be a resource for expat information first and foremost.
[all the above simply my opinion before ingesting any coffee]

Useful info for expats? I thought the Expatica forums were simply a place for continually expressing your opinion on the Obama administration.

Its funny because there is so much information on internet about anyone and all for free access that with just a name you can get all info of person in question thanks to hundreds of social networking site....
I tell you one example someone wanted to know about a person and he did some google and search other common sites and he is able to get to know about everything in matter of 2 hrs; information including father's name, mother's name, sister's husband name, sister's kid name, pet name, family doctor, even neighbour's name...you name it there is no end to it..., because each of your friends or relatives are linked to you which also give some of the information about you indirectly/directly .....
Luckily that someone is not me.

I find that hard to believe, these forums have got a lot better (particularly since they've been moderated) over the years and in that respect, certainly much less bickering and personal vendettas etc.. I have noticed however, that more people since seem to avoid these forums (they seem so much like a ghost town these days) so it would seem that many actually did enjoy the cut and thrust of activity there once was.mkitchell (Jan 20 2010, 10:26 AM) said: > original post

Please ingest coffee. I beg of you.
Sometimes, it's good to confront, and sometimes, walk away, but you always seem so p-d off at people all the time.
Who cares about Mr. Fook's motive? The post didn't fall under the categories of political bickering, personal vendettas or anti-Dutch sentiment. But you apparently chose to pick on it because you don't like him. Seems to me that you just made yourself part of the problem you claim you want to solve.

I try to post in the serious parts of the board when I can be helpful. But in light of your comments, perhaps its best I don't post at all. Would not want to mess up your little clique.
Good luck

It was really nice! Dutchie wants to move there now, so mission accomplished. But that'll be a few years away because she has to finish her studies get a highly paying job and then I spend my days keeping the mansion's pool clean. Well, that's the plan..
Sadly didn't get time to visit uncles and aunties because they're too far flung from Melbourne...so yes the billabong reference might be spot on :P
But we had wild parrots, echidnas and koalas eating out of our hands so I think mum must have bribed a zookeeper or something. And a nice hot Christmas with surfing!

So classic that you don't even get the singers name right.
Attention seeking ?
Ja Ja - typical crass response from a gun-toting ignoramus.
