So the EU is going to help the Spanish banks sell their repossessed property. What about the people here who own property, owe nothing on their properties but just want to move on. Everyone seems to bend over backwards to help the banks, estate agents focus on the property banks sell as "they do all the paperwork and they are easy to sell". Are prospective buyers of these bank properties aware that there can be awkward little twists and turns about buying repossessed properties, i.e. mortgages left unpaid, utilities still unpaid etc. etc. Can't help feeling that somewhere along the line these purchasers of bank owned property are going to come unstuck.
Our story is that we purchased our property 8 years ago for a holiday home (http://www.valenciaholiday.iowners.net) and now want to move on into a bigger home now we are retired. Don't see anyone helping us !!!! - there are just too many second hand properties on the market - and if anyone can give me some ideas I would be grateful. tried so called estate agents and were told that older houses don't sell, so people don't like history???? I've even been shouted at when an estate agent saw our property on line and discovered that it was half a Valencian townhouse. No No No he said. Meanwhile our furniture is stored in every wardrobe and storage room and in the attic in the UK, and I keep saying "where is....." I hope I don't seem to be moaning and too down, I'm not really, but need some ideas. Doesn't someone want a nice two bedroomed property with a town hall tax of 250€ a year lol
we are completely absorbed into the area, out most weekends joining in everything within a 100 km radius, invited into spanish homes etc. etc. I JUST WANT MY OWN HOME WITH MY POSSESSIONS AROUND ME.
So, anyone reading this got any ideas.......
