ATTENTION LANGUAGE/ENGLISH TEACHERS, ACTORS, PLAYWRIGHTS, AND THEATRE LOVERS: TESOL Drama is offering exclusive dramatic training workshops for teachers and artists all over the world by NYU/Columbia Educational Theatre Graduate. We are a NYC based art education institution and are conducting a 30 hour workshop in Paris, France on August 29-Sept. 2nd 2012. No experience necessary, just a fluency in English and a passion for drama!
By the end our TESOL Drama workshop you will:

TESOL Drama Workshop Description:
The primary focus of our workshop is to improve communication through the practice of drama, which is useful for English, language, TESOL, and theatre teachers as well as performing artists. Our facilitator identifies the goals and needs of each of the participants, then leads them through dramatic activities, games, and improvisational exercises that create a forum for reflection, catharsis, and discussion which address the identified questions regarding their practice. Participants are then guided through collaborative group activities where they create scenes, monologues, short plays, and lesson plans using the tools they have been given. Skills taken from this workshop include: the practice and teaching of vocal work, learning to create and think on your feet, teaching and engaging in creative group collaboration, practicing cultural sensitivity, and using drama to better communicate ideas. Career options and practical applications of this work will also be explored and discussed.
