I will appreciate if someone can give an answer to following problem.
My current visa status is kennismigrant. My current job will expire at the end of September with no possible extension. I want to start looking for a job but kennismigrant visa has high salary requirement because i am above 30. One solution for me is to apply for zoekjaar visa as i have received PhD from Netherlands. Can someone tell me if it is OK for me to apply for zoekjaar visa now. Will my kennismigrant visa discontinued if i apply for zoekjaar visa? If my kennismigrant visa is discontinued then can i still continue working on my current job?
note: The zoekjaar visa that i will get is not a work permit because i have received PhD degree from Netherlands and not a master degree.

hmmm ... let me explain bit more ... never mind if you guys think it is a stupid question. With my current kennismigrant visa, i can switch employer without applying for new visa. However, salary condition is very high so i may face difficulty in finding high salary job. If i apply now for zoekjaar which will not be a work permit because i have obtained PhD (and not a master). With zoekjaar, the salary condition will be removed however, employer will have to apply work permit for me. My question is can i continue working with my current employer till the end of contract if i get zoekjaar visa let say next month. Thank You
