Hi All,
I am new to Amsterdam. I am planning to bring my wife and kid soon. My daughter is 4.5 years old and is doing her Upper Kinder Garten back in India. I'm planning to put her in an intenational Schoool here. I need some specific information - which of the international schools are affordable/reasonable. ( I heard the fees for AICS is around 4500 euros an year). What is the equivalent class of UKG here.
Does anyone have any of their child studying in similar class in international school , if so let me know your email / mobile number - I will send you personal email. Pardon if this topic has been beaten to death. But send me your responeses , I need specific information.
Regards,

The state-subsidised international schools are the ones which charge between €4-6000 per child per year. In Amsterdam, here is a list of statesubsidised schools:
AICS.
The others are private/independant international schools with fees in excess of €12000 per child per year. In the Amsterdam area, private international schools with English as their teaching language are:
International school of Amsterdam (ISA),
British School of Amsterdam.
The nearest alternative state-subsidised international (primary) schools, should you choose to live outside Amsterdam and commute so your wife and child can live near to a good school:
International Primary School Letterland, Almere;
European School, Bergen;
Violenschool International Primary School, Hilversum.
Your child will start school in Group 1: she must be in formal education the day after her 5th birthday. The waiting list for Group 1 for AICS is very, very long. If you seriously want her to go to AICS, you need to call them TODAY and find out if this will even be possible. (For older children, the waiting list is not so long.)
