  I'm thinking of starting my own freelance / ZZP company here in Amsterdam. I am already employed full-time and my employer offered me some additional independent work to complete on my own time. It occurs to me that it would be best just to register as a ZZP and bill him accordingly.

   

  It seems easy enough to set one up.

   

  But before I do all this, does anyone out there have any advice / stories / warnings about doing this?

  With only one client, who is also your employer, it will be difficult to convince the tax authorities that you are independent. Instead the tax authorities will assume (fictitious) employment. You will need more clients.
