I really need help, probably from a Dutch or Netherlands-resident person, who has recently entered a registered partnership (or marriage) with someone from way outside the EU. But maybe you have other relevant expertise...?
I am an Englishman, long-resident (40 years) in the Netherlands. I want to enter a Registered Partnership in The Hague with my longtime woman-friend (20+ years) from Latin America. We are not intending to cohabit in the Netherlands on a permanent basis but to continue our to-ing and fro-ing relationship between here and there.
I have read all the requirements, in Dutch and English, but they are complex, there are specific time requirements and I want to make sure we have everything ready for when my partner arrives for one full day, July 11, returning for around two weeks, July 22 (she is a busy international traveller).
Given the brevity of even her second visit, given that this is the vacation period, I am wondering whether we can go through the process in the one-day plus two-weeks, or whether she is going to have to return within one year.
But what I really need is something like a combined map and timetable of the different instances that we have to visit, including what documents (translated into Dutch, with the Latin American apostille) have to be presented where. And, of course, how long it will take each office to approve such.
Answers preferably in English (for benefit of my partner), maar in het Nederlands zou ook acceptabel gevonden woorden.
Are you two married? Starting 1 July 2012 (next month), the law is changed. Only married couple can apply for residential permit for limited time. That is what I heard and read somewhere in the newspaper.
I don't understand what is your purpose of registering your partner (or wife?) with the gemeente. Even if you can do so with the gemeente, I doubt if that means she can enter Nederland as if she has a Dutch residential permit or passport.
Have you checked the website of Rijksoverheid.nl? Choose "onderwerpen", then "Trouwen, samenlevingscontract en geregistreerd partnerschap", and then "Vragen en antwoord". You'll see the conditions and the valid documents you need. I think 2 weeks + 1 day may not be enough.
I have various such official documents. But I will check to see if this one is more helpful on the sequence of steps in the process itself. I suspect, however, you are right about getting everything done within the period currently available. I fear that my partner may then have dificulty returning within the six month period (necessary to avoid having to repeat one or more steps in the process). In any case, thanx!

De gezinsmigratiemaatregelen uit het regeer- en gedoogakkoord, die op 11 april 2012 zijn gepubliceerd in het Staatsblad, treden niet in werking op 1 juli 2012. Wanneer de maatregelen wel in werking treden is nog niet bekend. Houdt de berichtgeving op deze website goed in de gaten. Zodra meer bekend is, zal de IND hierover een bericht plaatsen.
This means what I read a few weeks ago is now (temporary) cancelled or postponed. So far as it goes, the "must be married" rule will not be applied yet after 1 July 2012 (next month).
The waiting time for "ondertrouw" is already 2 weeks. But the Dutch ambtenaren are famous of delaying things, 2 weeks may become 2 months.....And "geregistreed partnerschap" is nearly the same as "huwelijk" in the legal sense, so maybe it's worth the time.
