  Hi

   

  My passport expires in December this year and I want to travel to India in July for a month.

  I am a knowledge migrant and have a 5year residence permit.

   

  Can I travel on such a passport to india around july first week and travel back to Netherlands in august first week?

   

  My guess is going to india wont be an issue on a passport valid less then 6months since its my home country but what about travelling back to Netherlands?

   

  Secondly can I go to India and renew my passport since I will be there for a whole month and come back to Netherlands?Possible ?

  If you have your NL resident permit card with you, they don't care when your passport expires as long as it is not expired

  Sounds good but I am just doubtful about the airlines if they would allow me to board while coming back to Netherlands.

  read again what mvn says. Airlines are not embassies that issue visa and require passport to be valid for atleast 6 months. As long as your passport is  valid - you can travel on it.

  Hey sorry saw your post now.
  Yes all went fine.
  I went to India got a new passport done in taktal took 10days to receive it and then with my residence permit entered Netherlands.
