Amsterdam rapidly declined as an attractive gay city. While the Netherlands is still a great country to be gay, there is hardly any more reason to visit it when you are gay. Any city in Belgium has a better nightlife then Amsterdam. A few months ago the most popular club in Warmoesstraat was closed when they found out that people there use drugs (surprise surprise). That combined with attacks on gays makes the city not very appealing as a gay hot spot.

Totally agree with you there. I'd also say that it probably has something to do with having a conservative government for so long too...

Racism is probably the closest term, really - unless someone has a better name for discrimination/hate against people from a certain country? Feel free to suggest something better.
And Pepe, ANYONE who tars EVERYONE in a country with the same brush is guilty of the same. Doesn't make you any more correct in being that way, it just makes you look more of an idiot because you know that it's a dumb way to be.
… alternate terms would be 'prejudice' or 'bias'.

Well, I hate to state the obvious (and not trying to start a fight) but since you asked… alternate terms would be 'prejudice' or 'bias'.
If one does not like a group of people like the Dutch or the Brits - that would be mean one is 'prejudiced' or 'biased' against that group as clearlythe Brits and the Dutch are of the same race - Caucasoid.
Now, why people cannot see this big pink elephant in the middle of the room is a mystery to me.![]()
I have heard the word 'racism' used on these boards for years in relation to virtually every mishap or disagreement that arises and it makes absolutely no sense. I have been saying this for years ... all I can do now is to shake my head.'If ignorance is bliss then ...'
I don't know if it's a lack of knowledge of the English language, education, exposure, culture or whatever … but it is truly bazaar IMO.

Most of that policy is decided on on a local level and Amsterdam is PvdA territory which is a left-wing former labo(u)r movement which is moving slowly but surely to an islamic style conservative way of governing.

I doubt it. TPC discusses with other forum members. Samenleving only discusses with himself. (Or does anybody actually read those threads?)

Well I did at first but now that I just don't understand why he posts them, no longer.
For a moment I thought it was a bot, but it's an actual person amazingly enough.

If I'm not wrong, this poster is a favourite taunt of TPC.
I support the campaign to bring TPC back: he was the greatest at keeping Palinism under control *or at least, baited them into the relevant subforum where they wouldn't bother the rest of us (right, Bubbbbbba?)"
Incidently (while feeling nostalgic), I miss Jim Morrison. He was funny.
