  Has anyone seen the series "Entrepid journeys"
  
  I thought it was a good idea, local celebs going to exotic countries and doing a bit of a travel log, Tim Shadbolt one in Borneo was hilarious..
  
  Also got the NZ railways DVD with marcus lush, thats really good, he goes from Bluff to top of north island, by rail and tells stories and meets characters on the way.

  never saw that series, but I remember Marcus Lush! Wow that brings it all back, what a weird character he was
  
  I wish there was more NZ tv online - stupid telecom and their stupid broadband tightassness...

  I was reading NZ has one of the worst broadband services in the western world.

  considering it wasnt so long ago we had one of the best internet services - I remember having an all you can eat telecom dialup for about $28 a month when in the Netherlands they were still paying per minute - its embarrassing how incredibly slow they have been now with the broadband, even the government keeps pressuring telecom to allow competition and they keep giving a little bit and a little bit and never enough to truly catch up to the rest of the world - they are still on limited data accounts.. its stupid..

  Didnt catch that, but did see Anthony Bourdain touring NZ. Had to laugh when he scoffed down a meat pie!

  oh and on the backwardness note, when I went back in 2002, you couldnt even SMS between telecom and vodafone.

  Yeah probably something to do with Telecom too.
  
  When I was there a few years ago I had a T-Mobile subscription and it didn't work outside Auckland airport - I think because Telecom had the local "partnership".
  
  I also had a LOT of problems with SMS in February when I was there, but I couldn't work out why as some recipients had Vodafone and some Telecom.

  Actually speaking of kiwi tv, anyone remember Karen Hay on "Radio with pictures"? That used to play some great music. I think they had some guy called Dick driver or something as well as a presenter later on.
  
  Also anyone remember the sunday horrors on tv as a kid?

  my mum didnt like me watching the Sunday horrors But me and my bro used to love them, particularly the Hammer studios ones, and Vincent Price (he was very funny).
  
  Karen Hay is still around, I read something about her, a radio show or something? Maybe she is even online somewhere... will have a look. She always was into the alternative music.

  Some where, but the 60's, 70's hammer films are the ones I'm talking about mostly, they were repeats even then.
